Manchester United have been cleared to seal the transfer of Sergio Ramos, as Real Madrid appear to have lined up his replacement.
The Spanish giants have contacted Valencia’s Shkodran Mustafi via telephone, according to his father, which would suggest they are planning for the departure of Ramos to Old Trafford.
Kujtim Mustafi told Sport1: ‘It is true, there was contact by telephone about this matter.
‘Madrid are a great club with a lot of success. And of course I would be lying if I said that I would not be proud if my son signed for this club.’
Louis van Gaal has reportedly offered £49.6million for Ramos, who is thought to have told the Madrid he wants a transfer away in the summer.
